MICKEY MOUSE Original Sunday Comics Drawing

Disney Studio artist/writer Del Connell wrote the Mickey Mouse newspaper daily strip and Sunday page from 1968 into the 1980s. In writing the strip, he drew a preliminary version of the feature for that day in pencil; it was then approved (and/or changed) by editors in the Disney Publications Department and turned over to Manuel Gonzales who drew the inked, published version. Here is Del Connell's polished original drawing in pencil for the Sunday page plus a copy of the black-and-white proof of the final version that was issued to subscribing newspapers for publication on August 22, 1976. This humorous episode features Mickey Mouse, Morty, Minnie Mouse and Clarabelle Cow. The art image measures 9" x 13 1/2" on a 10 1/2" x 15 1/4" sheet; the proof measures 10" x 14 3/4". The art sheet has a vertical crease at center, margin pinholes plus discoloration and small bits out at top and left edge not affecting the art: VERY FINE condition.  One of just two available (see also item below).  Item # 4063, $249.95

50cent.jpg (35119 bytes)Disneyland Skyway Vintage Ticket
Click any image for a better view
From 1955 until the early 1980's, individual tickets were required to enjoy the rides and attractions at Disneyland. If you ran out of tickets, you could buy individual tickets from ticket booths inside the park (two of these old ticket booths are still at Disneyland today, with the doors and windows plastered over- the lighthouse at the Storybookland Canal Boats, and the giant mushroom in front of Alice in Wonderland).  This vintage Skyway ticket is true piece of Americana.
We have several of these, so your serial number may vary (serial number will no higher than the one shown).

Disneyland Ticket From Walt Disney's Office

1697-02.jpg (42818 bytes)
Click image for a better view

Direct from the family of Walt Disney's secretary!  These 1960's Disneyland tickets were kept in Walt Disney's office so he could give them to important visiting guests.  Some were given to his secretary Tommie Wilck and never used, and became part of a lot of items I purchased directly from her family.  There were more than one of these in Tommie Wilck's collection, so the serial number may vary from the one shown.  Ticket is in new condition after 40 years!  When will you ever get a chance to buy a rare Disneyland ticket which came directly from Walt Disney's office?!  Disney signature is a facsimile, not a real signature.

Included will be a copy of photograph of Walt Disney with Tom and Tommie Wilck from the 1960's (that's Tommie Wilck with Walt in the photo above), and a photo of me, Phil Sears, with Tom Wilck at the time of the purchase in 2003.  Ticket is sold as a collector's item and can no longer be used for Disneyland admission.

The perfect 1950's souvenir for lazy vacationers!  A Disneyland Frontierland vacation letter that comes pre-written... all the buyer had to do was sign his name to it and send it off to a friend or relative!  The souvenir letter features graphics of Frontierland icons meant to look "hand drawn," and the folksy, informal tone of the letter tells of the all the wonderful sights in Disneyland's wild west.  Click on the image for a larger, readable view.  This souvenir letter includes the original envelope (which the buyer addressed and mailed- it's postmarked 1959).   The letter itself is copyrighted 1955.  Letter is in excellent condition, with the mailing folds and the Disneyland guests have signed it.  A truly charming  and unusual Disneyland souvenir and piece of Americana.
