On October 16, 1998, Virginia Davis- Walt Disney's first star- was named a Disney Legend at a special ceremony and luncheon at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.  5 Years before Disney made the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, little Virginia Davis was Walt Disney’s first star. The four year old girl acted against a white sheet and the film was then superimposed with cartoon footage for Disney’s silent "ALICE COMEDIES" beginning in 1923.  Walt Disney was only 21 at the time. Original 1936 Disney Studio Minnie Mouse Drawings at Great Prices!
From Legendary Animator Les Clark!

These original Minnie Mouse drawings are from the classic 1936 Mickey and Minnie Mouse cartoon, "MICKEY'S RIVAL."  These animation drawings come directly from the collection of fabled Disney animator Les Clark, one of Walt’s famous "Nine Old Men" (Clark is second from the left in the front row of the photo at the right). The Nine Old Men was the nickname Walt Disney gave to his very best Disney Studio animators, and Les Clark was the first of them.  Clark started at Disney in 1927- a year before the first Mickey Mouse cartoon- and in addition to work on classics like SNOW WHITE, Clark specialized in animating Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  He retired in 1975, and in 1989 was given the Disney Legend Award posthumously.

The drawings offered here were donated to the International Animated Film Society by Les Clark.  Rarely does one have the chance of buying a rare Disney animation knowing exactly where it came from or how it changed hands over the years.    But these drawings can be tracked from Les Clark to the International Animated Film Society... to you!
