Pinocchio Era Walt Disney Autograph

In the days before the Paparazzi it was fans- not aggressive photographers- who waited outside Hollywood restaurants with their autograph albums hoping to add another famous autograph to their collection. Here we present just that type of autograph, signed a quickly in the palm of Walt Disney's hand.

An uncommon example of Walt Disney's late 1930's/early 1940's cursive signature. The majority of Walt Disney autographs are from the 1950's and 1960's; it wasn't until 1954 that Walt Disney first introduced his "Disneyland" TV show, and become famous as television celebrity. Until then he was a studio executive and producer and often went unrecognized in public.

This vintage fountain pen signature from the era of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Bambi," "Fantasia" and "Pinocchio" is signed on a yellow 6" x 4.5" album page. A signature of this vintage was used as the logo for the Walt Disney Classics Collection (see image at right). The sharp point of the fountain pen has scratched the page in a couple of places, otherwise fine condition. An 8" x 10" print of the photo above will be included for framing.
